Please need advice 04 evinrude 175hp testing spark which wire is the ignition at engine?

I thought I could turn key to on then use a momentary 12VDC switch inbetween the battery +12VDC to simulate ignition.

Using a test bulb inbetween the spark plug an coil. The key switch is to far away from engine so I can’t see if the ignition is powering the bulb on.

I have the bulb in the shade not sure how bright these bulbs get but I'd like to close to engine to observe the bulb. I'm thinking she's not getting any spark.she ran great last year.

The coils on this engine do not operate with 12 volts from the battery I believe.

isn't there a ignition wire near the starter (down where I have the white tape at the positive of starter.

that I can connect the monetary (ignition simulator) switch so I can be close enough to observe the ignition testers light bulb? I think she's not getting spark
battery turns engine over strong.
