Possibly issue with 3.0 Volvo Pena inboard help please

I got a 3.0 Volvo Pena inboard on my 04 Glastron. When I put water muffs on it today and fired it up, the water didn’t come out of the pee hole, it came out where the drain plug is. Any ideas? I just replaced the impeller last summer and this was my first time starting it’s because it’s been in storage. Thanks

I’m in southern Kentucky, it gets cold but not a lot or for long periods of time. Yes it was winterized at the local boat shop last fall before I parked it. Could it be the hose doesn’t have enough pressure to make it come out the drain holes? I’m not very knowledgeable on these things so that may sound dumb lol.

I just re read you post... WHICH drain plug... the hull drain or the drive's oil drain?. If the first, you got problems, if the hole near the oil drain, then just plug it and try again.

The hull drain plug at the rear of the boat. I put the muffs on like normal with the water hose attached and fired up the engine. Instead of water coming back out the “ pee holes” it looks like it’s coming from under the engine block itself and then into the belly of the boat and out the drain plug.

Ayuh,.... Were the block, 'n manifold drain plugs up back into the block, 'n manifold,..??

I have the same system. As Bondo said.
Facing the rear of your boat, look on the right hand side…is water pouring out the side of the motor & into the bilge. There are two plastic (blue) plugs- maybe one/both are missing.
Look at the front of the motor, the hoses from the water pump- any leaks there?

It’s a 2004 model so I’m not sure if it does or not. I’m gonna try to look and see but it appeared like it was coming from directly under the main engine block, Dow into the bilge and then out the read drain hole of the boat. Matter of fact, I can’t even find the “ pee holes” where water would shoot out while running. I’ve looked over the dam thing

Those blocks were the same for quite a few years. The plugs are easy to see where described.
This engine does not have pee holes as an outboard would, most water/exhaust will exit from prop.
It should be quite easy, with motor running, to see the water source. Water cannot come from directlly bottom of engine, that is mostly oil pan.

The other possibility is that of rusted out or popped "freeze out" plug... ( actually used during manufacture to clear out the core casting sand).
If rusted out, likely the only problem.... if popped out, you may have freeze damage. As I recall... (its been a long time) ... these are on the port side of the engine.
