"Hello, we were thinking of putting a new fuel pump kit in a 1976 85hp johnson engine. I have been looking at some application charts and the hp and year never show up? Which fuel pump kit would be right for this engine? Closes I see is a 1978 85hp engine kit?

Any input would be great,

Heck i would install one off a 66 100hp as it even has a sight glass/ sediment bowl.
 
The fiel pumps they say are the same have been through 5 different revisions. I bought 1 wnd and it was slightly larger and only used 2 attachment pts instead of 3. Not sure how the larger displacement will affect fuel delivery either. But its the same. They lied for 4 days even after i sent side by side comparisons. End i can't find rebuild kits. I have 6 of these pumps all needing a diaphragm
 
These pumps all work the same.----A pump off a 20 HP can also be used on a 90 HP.-----In my opinion this is an easy fix.----Find some diaphragm material and make your own.
