I am in process of replacing 350 gm motor with 1994 290dp drive, the large rubber rings that seal bell housing look ok . I don't want any leaks of course so trying to figure out what if any product to put on inner and outer rings to make sure doesn't happen . First thought was to use bellows sealant but will it set up too quickly .

ok I only have seloc manual I noticed on ebay two different part numbers 1 made of softer material the other harder need to find diagram to get right ones inside and out thanks for the reply.

Is there any other model number designations associated with your 290DP?.. More specifically, is there a model number metal ID plate located on the transom housing assembly? as that is one of the parts area that you'll be looking for,' for better accuracy... Everything below is just a guess of general info in accordance of near similar engines and am using more so as examples for you.

You're correct as it appears there are a few possible part numbers depending on what full model number you have. Such as 852868, item number 5, https://www.volvopenta.com/shop/0/part-sections/54156909

Or 3862353, item number 7, https://www.volvopenta.com/shop/0/part-sections/54169358

Also you might be interested in the engine mounting rubber ring, item number 68
