where do I set tach for J150

Hi guys need a new tach for my 1982 johnson 150 .can anyone tell me what number to set the dail on the back of the tach thanks.I know it has to be for an outboard , someone has a omc tach for sale so it should work thanks

Your tachometer operates off of the engine's charging system which emits six (6) pulses. There is a dial on the back of that tachometer.... set it to number six (6).
