OMC model and serial no location

I'm a marine dummy....post

I'm a marine dummy....posted ? yesterday....got great advice....It looks like I was way out of the water on what year this boat even was....How do I locate mod. and ser. nos..... motor is a ford....drive is a stringer

Serial numbers may be hidden after it's been installed into a boat. You may need to use a mirror to locate your serial numbers.

The engine serial/model number is usually stamped on the port rear side of the engine where it attaches to the bell housing; although on most later models it may instead be a metal plate attached in the same location. If your engine has a stamped number it will simply be the serial number; if you have a plate, it will always show a Product number, a Type/Model number and then the actual Serial number."
 
I have a 1990 chris craft Volvo engine and trying to identify the lower unit model number all I know its.a OMC Cobra can u help identify please
