    I had to pull head to replace side cover gaskets, I’ve got new ones, should I use the Indian head shellac to help seal it, or just use gaskets with nothing

    Merc Leaking under power head

    I just replaced water pump and I’m getting water coming out of the cowling, I took cowling off and it appears to be coming from under power head, could it be something at top of pipe between bottom of power head and water pump? Or do gaskets under power head just fail. Motor hasn’t been run in years

    I am working on a 84 50hp merc that was sitting for years, replaced water pump and all of the lower unit seals. Put back together and coming out of lower part of cowling any ideas where to start. Possibly the top connection of the copper water pump tube?

    Need mercury tool part numbers

    I need to identify what lower end I have on a 1984 50hp mercury. It’s a 4 cyl and I need the tool to remove the shift shaft bushing as well as the bearing carrier retainer wrench. Both applications mention Bravo One and Two, MC-I, R-MR, Alpha One, Gen II, TRS. My serial # is 6485981. Any help...

    The top of it was split in half but only 1/2 circle of top was there. I tried to carefully tapping it and now it’s just a flush top. I ended up trying to drill it out first with a 1/8” drill then a 3/16”. Nothing, heat tapping, kroil it’s almost as though it is completely corroded tight! I...

    I have a 50hp, fresh water Mercury long shaft motor with a bad shift seal bushing. It is long deteriorated. Does anyone know what years/engine size that will interchange with it? I can’t get that bushing to budge, drilled 4 small holes in it hoping to free it up, no luck
