    When I was replacing the t-stats on my Honda 225 I noticed Amazon had stats advertised as Honda OEM but they looked different, they were half the price of OEM. I got OEM one's from Boats.net, You need to be careful with critical parts, people play fast and loose with the OEM claim.

    What Chawk said, I use needle nose to pull out in small pieces. Check the screen at the bottom of the insulator, if there is debris in it that will starve the engine of fuel at higher RPM.

    2006+ lower units have a different shift shaft, you could probably cut your shaft and weld the end to a 2006+ shaft to make it work.

    Differences in BF225A blocks

    I just bought a short block for a '04 225 from boats.net, the part number was superseded 3 times. The new block was different than the old but came with a crank drive gear and balancer assembly to work on older engines, I would call Boats.net they know there stuff.
