    Rechecked a few times Splines are lined up, lower unit slides in nicely with no force, shifter will shift when the lower unit is about 1/4 inch from being seated to the bottom of the motor but once it gets seated it will not shift.

    I have a 2007 yamaha vz200tlr, just replaced the water pump with a oem water pump kit. Reinstalled the lower unit and found after tightening down the bolts per specs and found I can't put it in gear but when I back out on the bolts a little it goes into gear fine but this leaves a gap between...

    Lower Unit Problem - No Neutral

    After replacing the water pump on my 2007 yamaha vz200tlr I can get the gear shifter to move out of neutral after the lower unit is tighten to specs. But it will work fine if the bolts are loosened up. All splines are lined up .
