    Honda BF90A Upgrade?

Getting it to idle nicely at 600 rpm will require a nearly perfect running engine I think.... Talking perfectly set idle air screws, freshly checked/adjusted carb sync (all carbs pulling exactly the same amount of air on idle), and fresh, or reasonably fresh plugs. Unless you need that 600 for...

    Honda BF90A Upgrade?

The 115 and 130 motors are way heavier than the 75/90's, so presumably way different motors. Count me in on the votes for a different prop or buying a bigger motor....

BF50D Cranks, pumps gas, wont start/runs rough

I was just thinking about pushing fuel trough the pump (dummy moment). In practice, the needle and seat are going to close well before the fuel level in the bowl gets to the point you are going to push fuel through the HP pump....

BF50D Cranks, pumps gas, wont start/runs rough

Regarding the belt, I didn't mean impossible. I meant darned unusual, and I should have mentioned "in my experience". I've messed with my share (100+?) of the mostly older 35-50 hp Honda's and have not had reason to replaced an idler or spring yet. Further, but not trying to beat a dead horse...

BF50D Cranks, pumps gas, wont start/runs rough

All of the above, w/2 thoughts. A timing belt issue on a motor this new would be pretty unusual, unless you're talking commercial use/really high time. When it went down, was it like you shut the key off, or did it gradually slow/start puttering/runnig erratically before it stopped? The answer...

Bf50a wont go over 3500rpm under load

First, geez, there is no need to free rev these motors (or any other motor). There is NO useful info to be gained by how high it will rev. with no load on it. Second - agree with @jgmo regarding the need for the carbs to be cleaned, especially if the carbs were not drained during it's time in...

Aviation Gasoline (100LL), Good or Bad for Carbureted BF40A?

One other thought from the peanut gallery. I think you'll find 100LL is stable as all get out. Not generally a lot of concern over the age of the fuel onboard among pilots of small planes when climbing in for an outing - within reason.

New Water Pump Worked, Then Stopped!!!!

muffs HAVE to have adequate water supplying them - no room for if's or maybe's.

Honda BF50 low idle when hot

That works. '07 was the year they switched from carbs (a motors) to F.I. (D motors) so both were in the pipeline. F.I. is really nice, until it isn't. '07 carbs are nice, but because of the auto choke, can be a plumber's nightmare. Make SURE you keep plenty of fuel treatment in that motor...

Honda BF50 low idle when hot

If it's an '08, it's fuel injected...... with no ability to be adjusted much..... More likely possibly, is it' a little older, with a "Meets **** EPA Restrictions" sticker on it?

Honda BF50 low idle when hot

I work on all sorts of the older, along with some not so old. I generally try to leave them reliable, whatever it takes. I don't like worry about them quitting when put in gear. Not a fisherman, so I just don't care how slow it'll go.... Some will do a nice down to 750-800 rpm, some seem to...

Honda BF50 low idle when hot

Water not an issue. Maybe let the motor warm up a little better and try setting the idle mixture screws then. Depending on motor/conditions, I most often end up 2.5- 3t.
