Is my Sea King Air Cooled

Does it have “fins” on the engine block? If so, definitely air cooled. I cannot find that model #. Most of these motors can be located here, looking at the common Sea King, (Montgomery Ward), doesn’t bring yours up. https://www.discount-marine-parts.com/

2001 mercury 40 hp 4 stroke missing on botton cyl under load

If you’re really bored one day, search Paschen's law. Long brfore we were born he discovered that as compression increased, so did resistance, & therefore the voltage required to jump the gap. A weak system may very well show a good spark at room pressure, but not be strong enough at higher...

    Johnson Outboard Fuel Connector

There are plenty of hoses listed as generic, or for Johnson Evinrude but in fact they’re Yamaha fittings. They look very close to the same, but the Yamaha A slightly bigger orifice. If you compare them side to side, looking at the little stainless steel ball in the end of the fitting, you will...

    Yamaha 6hp ignition

He said, Hi everyone, I'm working on a Yamaha 6hp (6M8) 2-stroke and trying to set the maximum ignition timing (35° BTDC). The service manual says to set the flywheel to 35° and then align the timing marks on the magneto base and flywheel, but I can't find these marks anywhere. I've looked...

If water does leak there…keep on boating. It’s all going into the lake anyway.

Exhaust Anode. Why does Honda do this?

It’s often that using the impact driver to first TIGHTEN the offending bolt. Not a bunch, just a hair. Then reverse & loosen. Then tighten, then loosen. Sometimes that will break the bond. Use heat in conjunction with this.

    Gas leak somewhere

I keep one of those little plastic tanks from a lawnmower. It’s attached basically to a stick with a clamp on one end. Attach it anywhere above the motor, so it gravity feeds into the carburetter. If the motor starts and runs fine, then you know, leave the carb alone and look at your fuel pump...

    Sea king five

This is a quite large document, scroll through or search til you get to the Montgomery Ward section. Scroll down to CUSTOMER SERVICE MODEL REFERENCE CHART, then page “H”. Your model appears as 1963. Followed by an entire service manual. Yours is also Gale model 5D22, which is on page 1-26...

    Sea king five

I think your motor was built by Gale, these were branded under quite a few names. Give these folks a call. You can probably purchase a parts/Service, or Owner Manual. I know, I know, the link looks like a porn site, (The Brazilian Connection),but they are legit. Phone # at bottom of page...

1973 Evinrude Norseman 40HP No Spark

Generally, you don’t keep torquing those bolts til the wheel pops off. Turn them down to the thickness of the flywheel, create some good tension by turning the puller Center wheel. Give the top of the Center bolt a sharp whack…I’ve never had the flywheel not pop. The flywheel is not mechanically...
