    What color is the oil? Does the color match the color of the gearoil you put in it or is it black and smells like gasoline?

    You are talking about engines that are 35-40 years old! They all ran good when they were new....Without understanding the condition, no one can recommend which one to buy. As Racer would say, " I can't touch your motor". Avoid Mercury/Force, that marriage never worked and are obsolete now...
