    That system isn’t currently functioning it is stuck in the wide open position. It’s on the todo list. I’m led to believe that the wide open position is where the butterflies would be in running the motor over 4000 RPM.

    ok good info and this aligns with what happened initially. The boat would idle for about 2-3 min and then alarm. turn it off and turn it on and alarm would go away for about the same time idling. Anything over idle did not trip an alarm. I replace the O2 sensor and the alarms all went away...

    I have bought a used O2 sensor from ebay to check this out... Theory is worst case I get an O2 alarm and I can get past the 4K limit... Worst case its something else and nothing changes... Pretty solid AI response from both chatgpt and gemini that the aftermarket sensors are a big no no

    so I paid a mechanic to do that work. The VST was gnarly. He cleaned it spotless according to him and we replaced the high pressure fuel pump and the holder and some hoses etc. It ran pretty good for the first day otw.     oil looks normal and smells like oil no real gas smell from the oil... I am wondering and thinking this low pressure pump may be the culprit.. New ones are pricey, 280 bucks.... cheaper than a motor I guess... Anyone had one of these apart, can I just disassemble and look inside?

    Agreed thats it. It wasn't particularly dirty, oil on the screen which a quick blast with cleaner and it was gone..

    Ok so pulled the sending units I have two for some reason one in back on in front both are clean and there is no obstruction around pick ups. The tank has some macro dirt in it but any and all of this would never get past the racor
