    Just bought the motor. Lower unit work is next -she is peeing good. In typical Johnson fashion she takes about 25 seconds to start peeing as TStats open. (That scared me so bad at first-used to my Yama peeing right from the start.) But from my research...if SLOW mode engages you have to turn off...

    Hi Mike, Did you ever solve this issue? I have some motor having similiar issues. I had her up to 5600 rpms running WOT, she sputtered and dropped to 4800. Ran good for about 2 hours like that at 4800 but now she runs at 4800 for about 5 seconds then drops to 1500 rpms. I can run steady at 4000...
