    2001 f25 won't run

    Just traded for this - ran fine for 5 minutes then died and won't run. I have spark and fuel. Does try to backfire when cranking - checked timing belt - looks good. Any suggestions?

    Does a 2001 have variable timing? And could someone explain briefly how it works? Controlled by the Motorola unit?
