2000 25hp 3cylinder Johnson getting hot.

I put a new water pump today and new thermostat last year. It seems to me that it's getting to hot. It's peeing lots of water . When I'm trolling it's getting hot. I can only⁹ hold my hand on the block 10sec max. When it's running fast it's not hot at all. What could be the problem.

Are you sure there's a problem? At Trolling speed the thermostat has more effect on cooling. As you go faster water pressure pushes the thermostat/popping valve off of the seat. What is the actual temp of the head. 10 seconds is a long time

I have a temp gun for taking ppl temperature but it only goes up to 130F

It's good everywere except the bottom of the block it's idling at most 160F. But the very bottom got up to 185F

That's the tempature at idle. It drops down to low 120sF running at higher speed

Do I have the fins on right. The flat level part towards the boat and other end that sticks out a bit towards the prop. Tried to take a picture but it won't let me

I don't think it works. But I just used it on the weekend and nothing happened

I don't think it does ɓecause last yr it was òver heating and i changed the iimpeller and it fixed it. There was no alarm.
