2 stroke outboard 150hp idle issue

I have a 2stroke Suzuki dt150 outboard and I'm having issues with idle first off my problem was every time i put it into gear under load it would just quit so we cleaned the carbs reinstalled them and now it idles to high we changed the counting coils we figured that could've been the problem just curious where to go from here! TIA

The trouble shooting starts with a compression test.----Post the values.----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on all leads?

compression was about 95-100psi on all 6 and i'm not sure about the spark plug gap

Compression is to low

thats cold compression

Cold or hot it's to low and will have a hard time idling or anything else
Should be 110-130 with 120 being more normal

Could check with another gauge, but otherwise the motor needs some help

ill give it another test i didn't test it with throttle wide open and i think that's how you get the most accurate reading

but the idle is steady and healthy just too high lol by like 1400rpm

It takes very little for the butterfly to increase the RPM. If the linkage between the carbs is not adjusted correctly it can keep the butterfly from closing. Might disconnect the linkage and see if each carb is closing equally

Throttle does not need to b open for a compression test on a 2 stroke.

oh ok wasn't sure i was just going through some of the service manuals and that's what it was suggesting
