I have a vintage tilt/trim system from a 1977 Johnson 85hp outboard, and I’m replacing all the O-rings. When I disassembled the unit, I didn’t note the position of the 2 small copper metal pieces inside the cylinder. I’ve checked several repair manuals for the trim/tilt system, but I haven’t been able to find any information on their correct placement. Does anyone know the proper orientation or installation location for these parts?
