How do I determine what I need to order to replace a broken console mechanical remote for throttle and shifting.

The console remote for throttle and shifting will not allow me to shift from neutral to forward or reverse. There is no button on the handle to pull up on to move it forward or reverse. Am I missing something or is it just a push forward and pull for reverse? If I push the button on the side I can move the throttle forward and reverse and can see the throttle plate open and close. When I try to move it forward when I don't put the button in it will not move. I disconnect one of the 2 cable that are on the shift plate on the side of the starboard exhaust manifold and both cables will move in and out. I would like to order a new remote console but I'm wondering which one I need. I have a 2010 Mercruiser 350 Mag MPI with a Bravo 1 drive. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Was the engine running when you tried to shift the bravo stern drive into gear? The design of the/this drive is more so designed to be shifted while turning...If the drive is not turning internally (< not necessarily the prop) it can be very difficult to get it to shift and really shouldn't be if at all possible... If you find yourself in need to shift it while not running the engine, then either have someone carefully turn the prop by hand while moving the shifter handle or a less desirable way but will work is to slowly rock the shifter handle in and out/forward and backwards until the handle makes its way into desired gear.

That mentioned, depending on both cable conditions, it's a bit more common for the shift cable that runs from the engine shift plate down to the stern dive to freeze up before the one between the helm to engine...Item number 10,

For your question maybe search online/ebay, etc. Mercruiser Gen 2 shifter controls or any of the part numbers below you like for other options and visuals.

If needed, try to locate the numbers on the cables between the helm and engine as often the last 2 numbers on the cable are the length of the cable and the other numbers before them are often the part number of the cable that you could search here or online for needed results.

If possible, post a photo of your control type only because as I started guessing with the above info shifter types, I then realized you mentioned remote console.
