Hello all and thanks for any input or advice in advance.

The title of the thread explains the issue. Hoping someone has had a similar issue in the past with some form of a resolution /repair. Currently fishing and I can run the engine for 7+hours for the trip with no issues until I turn it off.

A few points of note when you turn it off after it's hot,
No clicking or cranking sounds when you turn the key, it's completely silent.
Control box has power when you try to restart, the engine trim and tilt function still works.
No warning lights or error codes on the control box when this happens
Issue persists after installing a brand new control box
Engine recently serviced
Tried shifting the throttle/gear lever slightly while turning the key, makes no difference
The engine has only stalled unexpectedly while running once, unsure if this was due to getting rope around the prop
When the engine does restart after waiting a few minutes it cranks normally and starts right up, never struggles to turn over

Has anyone had any experience with this issue?
Cheers and ty for reading.

Hi,
Check the positive connection at the starter motor solenoid.

It's actually best to disconnect the battery then remove the cable at the starter. Use a wire brush on the cable end AND on the stud or pad the end attaches to. CLEAN, SHINY and TIGHT.

The same goes for battery cables and 1-2-Both switch connections or any other electrical connection that looks or is suspected of being "dirty".

Good luck.

Agree with above,
Could also try to hear fuel pump when you turn key? if no then likely fuel pump is failing when hot. If you hear the fuel pump then
with multimeter test for volts at exciter wire (speaker type spade connector on the starter), use alligator clip on multimeter and clip black to ground, red to the exciter wire (speaker type spade connector on the starter) turn the key see if you have 6-12 volts power if yes then starter is problem. starters do work intermittently when they are going bad, can try to jump it by turning key to on and run a jumper wire from red power cable on starter and touch the exciter connection on the starter.
