115 hp 4 stroke knocking sound

I have a friend that has a 2023 4 stroke that is making a knocking sound down low in the powerhead on the starboard side. It can be heard when idling in neutral but gets a bit worse when in gear. I localized it with an engine stethoscope and it's right int he area where the powerhead connects to the output shaft going to the loser unit. It doesn't seem to effect the performance of the engine. I have no idea what in that area could be making the noise. It was taken to a shop and the owner was told that there was no noise. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I'm afraid not. I don't have access to the engine any longer. I'm just doing some research for him to try to give some idea of where to start to look. Thanks for the reply.
