Threads on the tube, seems like starting one, rest seem to be ok, just lot of junk in them. Hard to see how nut looks like. Tried to take it of the cable, but it will not slide back, gets stuck.Is the nut on the cable damaged?----Or threads on the tilt tube?
Thank you very much for all the detail, especially about the year and model.Your tilt shaft/tube is part number

See number 18 in the link below;
Pretty pricey but fully functional and boats.net always has a much better price than dealers. Plus, the parts ARE genuine Honda parts.
Note that the nut, bushings, washers and cap are sold separately but do all look to be available. Items 14, 17, 39, 40, 43, 53 in the link.
The reason that you may have had problems finding parts is that Honda lists your frame number as a 2007 model and not a 2006.
There is no listing for any 2006 BF90D outboards. Only A models.
Hope this helps and good luck.
You sound like POTUSAnd it worked out beautifully. Really beautifully. Some would say more beautifully than anyone has ever seen before.
