2000 130hp ocean pro won’t stay running

Hey guys I’m new here and need some insight please. I have a 2000 130hp ocean pro j130vxsss. This is a boat I have recently purchased and have been troubleshooting ever since. So far the parts and checks are as follows…..replaced the fuel line, bulb, filter and water separator filter. Replaced the seals in the lower unit along with the water pump and installed new exhaust gaskets. Have pulled and replaced the spark plugs, cleaned and tightened the carbs as they are plastic and the bowls were loose. The compression on all four cylinders are between 120 and 125psi. The only things I have left to change is the fuel line to the tank I think, so my problems are when I am trying to run WOT I can only get about 4800 rpm out of her unless I play with the trim and can get 5200 but after that it starts to surge like I’m hitting a rev limiter. I have also noticed when loading the boat on the trailer the motor will not stay running. Also when the boat sits for about 2 hours she will not start without pumping the primer bulb back up. Guess my other question is there a trim safety sensor on this motor? I have ordered a manual but has not come in yet. Sorry for the long post but wanted to cut down on all the other questions that you guys ask in every post.

Hi Mike, Did you ever solve this issue? I have some motor having similiar issues.
I had her up to 5600 rpms running WOT, she sputtered and dropped to 4800. Ran good for about 2 hours like that at 4800 but now she runs at 4800 for about 5 seconds then drops to 1500 rpms. I can run steady at 4000 rpms with no issues. Just weird. Just cant run higher than that.

Running in S.L.O.W.---Mode perhaps.----Have you replaced water pump impeller every 5 years ?
Just bought the motor. Lower unit work is next -she is peeing good. In typical Johnson fashion she takes about 25 seconds to start peeing as TStats open. (That scared me so bad at first-used to my Yama peeing right from the start.)
But from my research...if SLOW mode engages you have to turn off motor to reset. In my case, the motor will buck and drop to idle RPM. I put in neutral, it idles, and I can repeat the whole thing again and get the same symptoms without a restart.
Going to ground the sensor and test that to eliminate that.

I'm thinking it's power pack, regulator/rectifier, or stator. I'm thinking gotta be ignition issue somewhere. Weird that I can run at 4000 rpms...20 mph.... all day but as soon as I go WOT and get to 4500ish rpm she bucks and drops out.
