“Hot soked” 8.2 (2024 w/7 hours) engin

Went out in our Donzi with 8 hours on it. Put an hour on to resteraunt and then back slowed to idle speed and stalled after 5-10 min - restarted and stalled again. Wouldn’t start got towed back home (close by). Boat started fine cold next morning. Mechanic coming to hook up to computer to diagnose problem. He said over phone - he thinks its “Heat soked” and he’ll figure it out.

Anyone have this issue

What was your running temp?

Has the Gasoline been in the tank since 2024?

What engine configuration? Carbed or EFI?

Any history of any issues


8.2 with 7 hrs says one thing. Boat has not been used in almost 3 years.
#1, a on engine impeller sitting unused for 3 years tells me the impeller is shot and has taken a hard shape. May have broken vanes from drying out.

Any kind of maintanence been done on the engine?

Sorry just a simple owner not a wrech spinner.
Boat had 2.3 hours at beginning of season I’ve put 5 hours on in a month.
Running Tem at 160
Oil at 50-60
I have filled tank twice already (land station 93 octane)
8.2 H.O. EFI (2024)
Boat is new (dealer had boat Im only owner on title).
Not sure how much maintenance done on 2 demo hours with dealer - I would think none
