I have a older model mariner 40hp 2stroke
It has a couple of issues 1st one being the selecting of gears the gear rod won’t stay in the bottom unit it just pulls out when connected to the engine I have a picture of the rod but I have no idea if a part is missing or if it’s how it’s supposed to be
Also the engine ticks over nicely but doesn’t seem to want to rev up is that just the way the engine is made so it doesn’t rev up when not in gear
