New Merc 9.9EXLPC installed by Merc Dealer with throttle limited to 40% maximum.

I found this when checking their work. Given that setup had new Merc Gen.1 controller, new Merc cables, and a new Merc motor - pretty hard to understand ! Further, the PDI did not even require the throttle range to be checked.
In the Merc installation manual, p.30, it said check for a conflict between "throttle cable end guide" and "remote wiring harness", which I found did indeed exist. How could Mercury market a design with this conflict?
and what is a proper solution. The manual says " relocate the remote wiring harness" - well easier said than done. I cannot see that the long thick plastic "throttle cable end guide" serves any useful purpose, and clearly interferes with throttle range.

Call the dealer and tell them to check their work.

And the last part is becoming harder and harder. It's weird seeing this happening and it seems like yesterday that I was starting at the first boat dealership at the beginning of '98.......when I started at the third dealer in 2019, the average age of the five in the shop was over 60- one guy was 35, the second youngest was about 30.
