Just picked up a 1988 mariner 75hp thats been garage kept since it was new. literally looks brand new inside and out and starts on the first rotation of the crank. it has oil injection on it and it works as of now since the compression is 137, 136. and 132. Should i trust this long term? maybe rebuild the whole system? I like not having to mix, ive mixed on all my other ones but not sure what to do.

As the saying goes: "When in doubt Whip it out"......modified, When in doubt, go with premix.....just don't forget to add the oil when you gas up. 1988 is a long time ago but there there is nothing to degrade over time but hoses. The drive gear is metal or Phenolic (fiber reinforced plastic) and both are sturdy materials. The rest of the pump is hard plastic and metal...nothing in the circuit or its operation to worry there.......comments herein based upon my having a 2002 90 and 115 Merc.....the 90 I converted just because I felt like it, not because of a problem. The 115 was purchased later and I didn't feel like it so I didn't do it....not sorry.
