Exhaust manifold crack fix?

I have a 1989 bayliner capri with a ford 2.3 and omc cobra. I noticed water dripping down from the exhaust manifold so i checked it out and i found a crack in the manifold. So i have two questions. 1st. Is there supposed to be water in the exhaust manifold? 2nd. Can i weld the crack to seal it?

Exhaust manifolds are water cooled.

Ayuh,...... That'll weld it, but it'll recrack, 'n leak right next to the weld,.....

The block looks fine. I just swapped exhaust manifolds and im back up& running. I was told if i drill at the ends of the crack and use ni-55 to weld the crack it should be fine. Im gonna try it so i can use it as a spare. i found another bayliner with the exact same motor and outdrive and bought it fot $500. So i have spare parts lol
