1988 Yamaha fuel pump installation instructions 99999-03273-00

I have a 1988 yamaha FT9.9elg outboard that needs a fuel pump. Either Part#803529t070 or superseded by # 99999-03273-00 is the recommended fuel pump replacement. My problem is the original fuel pump has a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet where the replacements has 2 fuel inlets and 2 outlets or are the extra 2 hoses for water cooled? How do I hook it up correctly?

Are you sure that there are two fuel inlets and two fuel outlets?

See if air can easily pass in both directions on the side where the two fittings are at 90 degrees to each other.

Thanks !!! It turns out that its made for a couple of different models and that part is for the water cooled version and the brass inlet and outlet is for the water lines.

That was my guess.

Would have been nice if Yamaha would say that when they deliver a different pump than the one spelled out in their parts catalogs.
