Should I change my engine water pump assembly as preventative maintenance? 2006 Mercruiser 350 MAG MPI

Planning on doing some preventative maintenance on my '06 350 MAG MPI this fall. Was considering doing the engine water pump assembly (8M0113734). Not currently having a problem but it's original and now 20 years old. Engine has ~590 hrs on it and runs great, no issues, no overheat, fresh water only. Just curious on opinions given the age. Worth it as preventative? - Appreciate any input. Thanks

If its fresh water cooled, I wouldn't change it....if its raw water cooled, I may have a spare on hand...

they usually last a long time...as long as you take care of the engine..

If it's not leaking, I wouldn't worry about it- I recently changed the water pump in my 2005 Chevy Astro, at a bit less than 292K miles- unless the water contains sand/other sediment and/or is brackish/saltwater, it's going to last a long time as long as it isn't run dry.
