1967 Evinrude 40hp Electric shift

1.) How do I remove the Reverse coil housing ( 378665) ?

Shifting Wires are detached, the coil housing itself has 4 tapped 1/4x28x1/8"(fine thread) I'm reluctant to use a
flywheel puller on fine thread this shallow.
I can get it to turn but not pop out using a flathead.

2.) Is the Clutch Spring, Electric Shift (311030), loaded?

Meaning will it come flying out at me?

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated.

The lower housing must be separated entirely.------There will be another step to loosen the blue wire.-----The clutch spring does not fly at all.-----Removed the big circlip?--disconnected the blue wire?------What is this lower unit doing / not doing?

All has been separated entirely. As far as removing the blue wire, click THIS PICTURE, is as far as ive gone. I can't get that blue wire to expose itself any closer to detach it from the Coil housing.
Yes, the Bearing retaining ring (307080) has been removed.

Well, it's taking in water however once I dropped everything the vertical shaft's needle barring's fell into the gear assembly (all must come out)

Should I be using a flywheel puller on the reverse coil housing?
or should it slide out on its own? - I can get it to spin with a little force just cant pull it by hand

okay good to know. maybe its just suctioned on really good after all these years( finding a video on this particular set up has been challenging). ill try dowsing all sides with some debond spray

Too far away for help from a supply of used parts here.----Perhaps a slide hammer to gently help it out.----All bearings including the ones on the reverse assembly are likely scrap too.

Figured it out. pulling on the propshaft itself removes the reverse coil housing, spring, and pinion. had to get creative but it all worked out

Thanks for helping me brainstorm through this process.
