Has anyone had to drill out a tilt/trim relief valve?

Recently bought a 2006 Yamaha F150. Boat was kept in the water tied to a dock it's whole life. Bottom of mounting bracket under water (salt water), so the bottom pin for t/t is basically welded in place, as well as the release screw. Motor is stuck all the way up. Will removing the tilt/trim motor allow the motor to be lowered? The tilt/trim motor is working but I need to be able to get the motor to move so I can work the air out of the system and refill with fluid.. There is absolutely no groove left to put a flat screwdriver into. The head of the screw is completely flat. Can I drill this out and use heat and an easyout to get that screw out. Any other ideas?

Yes, Drill ez out size hole till you see it open the internal relief pin in the valve you must drill to the tiny opening. Spray in hole P B Blaster wait 24 hours and use easy out it will come right out.

I can't really see what's inside, but if I hit the tilt/trim button, fluid comes out of the hole I drilled. Have I drilled far enough?

Don't forget to remove the circlip/snap ring.

Yep, I have 2 tools for that but neither one can reach that far. I'll grab another one.
