    Thanks Charlie w I checked out rocker shaft and set tappets the timing was at 22* took it back to 20* no joy so I tried a another tack I removed the oil coolers and put in through tubes you guessed it ,no oil in the marina the oil cooler on the gearbox has a tiny leak just put air on it one...

    while i was yacking on about gear train rotations and counter etc , I forgot to ask , CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHICH DIRECTION A SIMMS PUMP ROTATES , WHEN VIEWED FROM FRONT PULLY END OR FLYWHEEL END and is it likely to make for a more complete burn if i advance it slightly

    my frindly neighbourhood injector reconditioner has sugested that I advance my timing a whisper to take up gear wear (unburnt diesel exiting exhaust, not a lot but enought to raise an eyebrow in the Dock) to take up backlash I must rotate the pump against rotation . looking at the pully end...
