2004 BF225 25" extension case driveshaft bearing (bushing) question

All I did was use a piece of square tubing. Then welded corners to fit the nut. Put a side piece with a nut for the torque wrench. Easy Hope this helps. And yes the post with the engine was supposed to be on another thread . Sorry

BF225 Lower unit shift shaft removal

I think I mentioned this to you on another thread. To pull the prop shaft use a slide hammer with an 18 mm nut that will fit the prop shaft. Just heat the outside of the case about 6 to 8 inches from the prop end of the housing using a heat gun . You don’t need much heat and it will come right...

It really isn’t that bad. The service manual has you taking everything off. You can leave somethings attached. The reason I’m saying that is because you only have to raise it up about 8” . That’s all the room you need to get at everything. There is a seal above the case oil seal. You can use a...

2004 BF225 25" extension case driveshaft bearing (bushing) question

That shift shaft should come right up . Does it shift ok? I would put it in neutral and put two pieces of aluminum one on the flat and one just opposite. Put a pair of vice grips on it and clamp it . Then using a pry bar try lifting up on it underneath the vise grips. There is really nothing to...

Here it is . I just did this three weeks ago. Took me 20 hours start to finish. I replaced the anodes in the exhaust manifolds , with all the “o” rings , oil seals etc. I going to test the boat out hopefully Friday. I’ll probably start it tomorrow, if it leaks I’m going to jump! That is the...

If those parts match the casting and you can put the puzzle back together , I would run it. If the engine doesn’t owe you anything and it runs good , run it.

Did you happen to look at the case assembly oil seal. The reason I say that is because those pieces in your photo look like to me anyway that they are part of the casting . If that is the case you would be able to tell if those pieces match what is missing from the case assembly oil seal. Let me...

2004 BF225 25" extension case driveshaft bearing (bushing) question

Hi. The easy way to get the prop shaft out is to put a slide hammer on the end of the prop shaft. It is an 18mm. I only used a heat gun to heat it up. It came out easy. To put it back in reverse the process. The only thing you have to do is get an 18 mm nut and weld it on to a nut of the same...

2004 BF225 25" extension case driveshaft bearing (bushing) question

i recently rebuilt mine . it really isnt that difficult , but there are some special tools you would need . I made all of the tools I needed for myself. That being said the tool that you would have to make or buy it the one that removes the special nut. Other than that it is pretty much straight...
