    Identify 40 Hp VRO Johson year

    Hi, The motor has no serial plate. Stamped into the top of the motor is A8421895. Also, does anyone know why it wouldn't have a power pack? It is running really rough, it has no power pack, just a place for one. Is there any 40 Hp VRO models in the 90s that used no power pack? Regards, Stebsy

    1995 40 HP Johnson

    Hi, I have recently purchased this outboard and it was idling quiet high. I adjusted it to a lower idle and it seems to miss a beat every few seconds then sort of... Catch back up and shakes the whole motor. So I adjusted it back to a higher idle and I think it's wrong as it drops into gear...
