    I have been running ethanol-free 90 octane gas treated with Seafoam Marine in my 1998 BF40A. It runs well. It is more convenient for me to find 100 octane aviation gas (100LL). I would appreciate any experience/opinions about using 100 octane aviation gasoline (100LL) in this engine.

    Gentlemen, Thanks very much for your suggestions. I pulled the gear case and disassembled the water pump. The impeller was was intact but it had clearly overheated, burning the gasket under the plate, near the shaft. Hopefully that did not compromise seals below. I'll know for sure next time...

    1998 Honda BF40 Throttle Position When Stored

    I have a 1998 carbureted, manual choke, Honda BF 40, with a top mounted, Honda control on the center console. I would like to store it with the throttle control in the full forward, advanced position (to minimize the height profile). Will this create a problem? Thank you!
