    Recently did a topend for this motor. Cylinders were egg-shaped, one is .002 over and other is .004 over. Ring end gap was in spec, everything went back together smoothly. 1st compression test without running was only 90psi each. Seems low to me but my machine shop I used said it will go up once...

    I've got a 97 9.9 that I'm looking to convert to a 15. Aside from jetting in the carb is there anything else that needs to be changed on this motor for the swap. I've done a 2 stroke conversion for more hp but not a 4 stroke yet. Is it the same cam and timing, or is the valve clearnace greater...

    2010 mercury 50hp efi bog and die on decelerating

    As title says, motor starts fine, idles fine, and accelerates okay but when i decelerate either slowly or quickly thr motor bogs downs sputters and dies. Starts right back up and idles fines. just did oil/filter and spark plugs on this unit. Fuel element is dirty and I couldn't get one just yet...
