    Query on a diagnostic report?

That motor has seen a lot of use. Mostly at lower RPM. Started 3000+ times. 29 oil change cycles. Suzi's are good motors.

DF20A - metal bits in oil

2 subsequent oil changes showed no metal flakes, currently at 184 hours and motor is running great.

    Df 50

Where did you measure the voltage? There may be a poor connection somewhere between the battery and the motor.

    help with df20a

I have used the software. It's not a disc or download, it's a micro SD card. I found it fairly easy to install and use and it did have the correct cable for my DF20A. Instructions for set up are included.

Suzuki SDS software is available from Amazon for about $60. I purchased and use with my DF20A.

Suzuki DF40 Running rough when accelerating, possible fuel issue?

The motor in the video is limiting RPMs because it is in neutral, try putting it in forward gear and revving it. If it's exhibiting this problem on the water then it might be a fuel problem, are you using fresh gas?

Thank you, I wasn't aware there are such products available.

    Adding power tilt to DF20

Does anyone have any experience with updating a DF20A to add the power tilt feature? Just wondering if this is feasible and if so where I might obtain parts.

    Suzuki DF15A over heat gradient

With red light and limp home mode there should be warnings stored in the SDS system. It would be in the "Caution Sys. Info" area of the Service Data Window. It took me a while to find this, it's not particularly intuitive.

    2017 df20a 3000-4000rpm stutter/stalling

Have you tried swapping in new plug wires? Done any troubleshooting that would isolate problem to spark or fueling?

Will DF20A motors start and run without being connected to battery?

    Question in title...just wondering.

    Spark plug.

The BR5hs is a "hotter" plug, running the BR6hs could result in it eventually fouling with carbon deposits but I don't think it would cause a noticeable reduction in power. I would recommend replacing with the correct plug when it's convenient to do so.

OK to use motorcycle oil in outboard?

I'm currently using Suzuki Ecstar V7000 10W-40 in my DF20A outboard. It is a semi-synthetic, API SJ. I have a couple of Suzuki motorcycles in which I use Ecstar R9000 full synthetic 10W-40 API SL. Is there any reason I shouldn't use the motorcycle oil in the outboard if that's what I happen to...

DF20A cuts out above 3K RPM

The oil leak was due to the low pressure fuel pump coming loose. It bolts to the valve cover so made for a fairly big oil leak when it became loose. This one's all on me as I did the service last fall and had to remove the oil pump and valve cover to check and set the valve clearance. I didn't...

DF20A cuts out above 3K RPM

There was no code shown on the warning light, it only came on when the condition was detected to cut out the motor. The SDS system showed a low oil pressure warning was causing the problem. Indeed, oil level was at the bottom of the dipstick, took about 600ml to bring it back to full level...

DF20A cuts out above 3K RPM

I was returning to the dock yesterday evening and motor began cutting out above 3K RPM. Warning light would come on and motor would start cutting out. Backing off the throttle completely would turn off the light and the motor could again be brought up to 3K RPM. It felt like the computer was...

50 HP Mercury 4 cycle runs then stops/primer bulb empty

I wonder if the jerry-rigged fuel line connection could have been a prior attempt to fix the problem you're having. Replacing all of the fuel filters should be your next step (as you mentioned). If that doesn't fix the problem then you might need to get a shop manual and perform a fuel flow or...

Suzuki 9.9 high Thrust: sudden death

I agree with you on concern about frying the ECM. SDS won't help with this problem anyway. Since the problematic motor won't even crank, there's no reason to swap plugs. Your suggestion about neutral safety switch is a good one.
