    I’m having this motor installed after I burnt a hole in the piston on my old 175 Johnson. Is there anything particular about this motor as far as running it I need to know? With the low amount of hours at this age is there anything particular I need to do to make sure it lasts a long time? Thanks

    It says pro xs direct injection & has blue decals & a local dealer i know has it. Haven't saw it in person to know model number yet.

    100 on 5 cylinders & 0 on top right. Shined a light & saw a hole in the piston. Trying to decide Whether to rebuild the one cylinder or find a good used motor now. Wouldn’t mind having a 175 optimal if I can find one.

    Lync & sync on j175 glsta?

    I noticed the timing roller on the top of my j175glsta motor is off. Since i've put a complete electrical system on it plus a vro i'm assuming a lync & sync needs done to sync everything together. Am i correct in this thinking? How did it get off anyway because it definitely wasn't.Thanks

    I got a check engine alarm twice tonight & bulb sucked flat after plowing & trying to get on plane so I’m taking the fuel pickup assembly’s out of tomorrow to see what’s up.

    J175GLSTA I’ve replaced my complete electrical system searching for weak holeshot problems & changed everything one piece at a time based on advice from local mechanics & still wasn’t fixed. I installed a used vro yesterday which cured the cutting out or surging whichever you want to call it...

    Oh ok. I wondered if it had anything to do with fuel pressure in the vro with all the trouble I’ve been having trying to figure my motor out. I crimped the fuel line the other night to see if I got a check engine light & alarm & did so I’m good there. Thanks.

    We’ll since everybody wants super simple gravy jobs to do around here it looks like I’ll be throwing more money at it & buying a vro to see if that fixes it. Hopefully it’s not wasted like the previous thousand has been.

    I cleaned everything off primed bulb & no leaks anywhere. I’m going to have to find somebody to test the vro for fuel pressure I guess.

    Pulse limiter is good. I did notice the left bottom tube where a fuel line goes on is kind of loose & wiggled easily when working it by hand?
