    1999 Johnson/Suzuki 5HP 2-Stroke overheats and doesn’t pump water until high rpm

So a while ago I got a 1999 Johnson J5REE which is I believe a rebranded Suzuki DT5Y. I remember as a kid This motor used to be nothing but problems but It is very sentimental to me as it belonged to my grandfather. Now, with my mechanical knowledge I got it running. Sorry for the lore, I’m just...

1966 Evinrude 18HP 2-Stroke, how do I find out if it needs the dual line tank?

Ahh thanks for the info, also I didn’t know there was another number under the fuel pump. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of that

1966 Evinrude 18HP 2-Stroke, how do I find out if it needs the dual line tank?

Model number or serial number was 18603C. I already put a new rope in it. One very interesting thing is that the upper half of the engine looks to have been red originally, so possibly someone rebuilt this with a Johnson cylinder? This thing also looks like it had been repainted at least 3...

1966 Evinrude 18HP 2-Stroke, how do I find out if it needs the dual line tank?

Yeah don’t worry I did all that, new points, condensers, and I have a coil I just have to wait until I go back down to the shore. We don’t live their full time so I can only give so much info. And as soon as I get it running I do plan to put a water pump in it. I already put new gear oil in it...

1966 Evinrude 18HP 2-Stroke, how do I find out if it needs the dual line tank?

So my 18Hp Fastwin didn’t come with a fuel tank but I don’t know if it needs the pressure tank and stuff. It has a 2 port fuel pump and there is one line going to it from the fuel connector and the other line goes to the carb. I don’t know much about the history of these so I just want to figure...

I don’t know what could be wrong inside the starter. It has been sitting for god knows how long and I am getting it running so any help...

1982 Johnson 4.5HP 2-Stroke Driveshaft extremely stuck in crankshaft.

Exactly but the impeller is also so badly stuck on and there is that metal part that goes in the housing

1982 Johnson 4.5HP 2-Stroke Driveshaft extremely stuck in crankshaft.

Believe it or not the bolts held on it just ripped the housing straight off. Crazy, but there is A lot of signs the motor was never taken care of and it clearly was never flushed or had spark plugs changed.

1982 Johnson 4.5HP 2-Stroke Driveshaft extremely stuck in crankshaft.

Ok so the lower unit was stuck, when we finally got it off, the driveshaft was so stuck it had ripped the waterpump housing off so now the waterpump housing is making the engine not able to come out because the waterpump housing gets stuck in the midsection. I will send pics when I can

1982 Johnson 4.5HP 2-Stroke Driveshaft extremely stuck in crankshaft.

bruh I tried but the water pump housing ripped off the lower unit when we removed it so that prevents the driveshaft from coming out.

1982 Johnson 4.5HP 2-Stroke Driveshaft extremely stuck in crankshaft.

Pulled lower unit off for a waterpump and it was so stuck that when it finally came off the driveshaft had pulled the impeller through the housing and broke the housing so the driveshaft is still in the engine. I can’t pull the engine out because the watermpump housing is stuck on the driveshaft...
