    Water in Oil

good you drain . I boat in upstate NY (finger lakes). Im always amazed how many folks up there just run the cheapest AF through a bucket and muffs... pressure test and if it fails pull the thermostat and look under there before you get worried. If raw water it isn't uncommon long term for the...

    Water in Oil

I would do the pressure test of the block /heads and intake to vet if its cracked. If you are raw water cooled could be rotted out under the thermostat or intake gaskets leaking around water port as well. If it is coming out the dipstick that means you are adding a lot of water to the crank case...

Are my props causing all my problems?

i would blame the vibrations on the props, but the rest of it sound like tune up and run ability issues. Since it got hot do you still have good compression and ruled out a head gasket? I would check the compression, look over ignition components including checking timing and consider a carb...

Bravo 3 stern drive 5.7 engine. Boat leaking through the arm that connects to the gimbal ring that passes through the transom.

Agreed but depends on the boat. My buddies 28 ft bayliner saved him a lot of work to not pull the engine. In my 21 ft bow rider its way easier to pull the engine. If you read his first post he mentioned JR marine and wasn't sure what it was about, just providing options.

Bravo 3 stern drive 5.7 engine. Boat leaking through the arm that connects to the gimbal ring that passes through the transom.

JR makes a kit (merc does as well) so you can pull the pin and gimbal ring to replace the seal without pulling the engine. If you engine is a bitch to pull this makes sense to save some time. JR also can repair gimbal rings and bell housings that get worn https://www.jrmarine.com/instructions.htm

Bad compression test on 4 & 6 cylinders

as others have written 90 psi is considered a dead cylinder(s). So from buyers perspective this means they will have to put a new engine in. Some fixes for this aren't terrible cost wise- two adjacent cylinders have low compression is often a blown head gasket. Can also be from hung up or...

    Electric fuel pump questions - 4.3 L mercruiser-1990 V6- 2 barrel carb

in additon to the 10 pin plug and batt cable check for voltage drop at the helm as well. what i have seen on two of my boats is the power comes from the key and daisy chains through all the gauges in series, lots of connections that can get corroded or loose. To me this is a bad design vs...

try michigan motorz for a reman long block $3800 or new base engine $5500. Might be worth a leakdown test may get away with a valve job.
