    Clicking noise when I turn propeller

    I have 1986 35hp mercury 2stroke. I changed out the water pump propeller bolted everything back up and now the boat propeller clicks when I rotate it. I can't get the throttle to go in forward or reverse. Cranked it and the propeller spins in neutral. Did I put something back together wrong...
