Hello, I’m new to boating only owned my 71 Marinetti for a year and I’m learning as I go. My dock is great and the people on the dock help me a lot.
I’m in a little predicament. We were idling to get out of no wake zone and when I went to throttle up the boat completely died, lost power and engine. Popped the hatch and steam or smoke was coming out. Towed it back to dock and took the water pump off, one of the impellers broke off the key. I’m hoping I didn’t crack anything but won’t know until I put the water pump back on and try. I need help with 3 questions. Question 1 i didn’t take a picture of the impeller before I took them out, does it matter how they go back in or will the water auto correct them? I know to put Vaseline and dawn dish soap on the impellers. Question 2 is what way does the motor turn clockwise or counter clockwise? I would imagine the impeller blades will need to be directed in the direction the motor
Turns ?
Question 3 my motor is completely dry! Is it ok to fire up once water pump is back on? Or is there a way to get water into the motor before start up?
Any help is much appreciated!
