I feel I've had this issue since we put a new long block in several years ago. Took a couple seasons to source compatible fuel injectors and I won't tell you where I got them but can assure they were pop tested by a 3rd party to check their accuracy.
Fuel smell is definitely not anything leaking in the bilge but I wonder if it can be coming back through the intake as I don't see it much in the water although I used to see it from time to time on cold starts. Engine runs fine although WOT RPM are low which doesn't really matter since we run cruise well below that, it's in a Pursuit 2460.
New plugs, wire and distributor cap didn't make it any better. Does sometimes have a miss at idle in the sense the engine has a pretty good vibration at idle but smooth as butter on the engine mounts under speed.
So it funs very well at cruise with no smell but can produce a fuel smell coming off a run...what would you test next?
