2000 Volvo Penta 5.7 GSI No Spark Issue

So looking in the relay connection socket #85 is a good solid ground. #30 is a good solid 12 volts plus. #87 shows continuity with coil and regulator. #87 to #30 shows voltage when checked with multimeter. #86 shows nothing at all which is the narrow pink/white wire to the ECM.
 
what you described in post #31 is not consistent with the wiring diagram shown in the you tube link you provided...so until you figure out that disconnect, there isn't much to say.

the PNK/WHT wire to the ECM should be tied to the +12VDC feed to the coil and the regulator...and should be going to Pin 87 on the relay, which should show +12VDC when the KEY is in the RUN position...Pin 86 should be the PUR lead from the RUN tab on the key switch, Pin 30 should be the fused connection to the battery and pin 85 is the ground for the relay...
 
I agree there are some differences. I will try and sort those out. My socket is not quite the same orientation as that shown in the you tube link.
 
Having the same problem ..

2000 Volvo penta gsi

Replaced with a Jasper ..
Worked for a week now no start .
Been in shop 2 months..

Not ECM
