I’ve only recently had this problem where my engine starts and idles just fine but went I get up to cruising speed about 3000rpms it sounds like the rpm’s are going up/down but I don’t see it on my gauges and the boat feels like it gains speed then get sluggish again when driving ( at 3000 it should be around 29-30mph but now it goes back and forth between 24-27mph).
This is what I have done so far
- I was told it’s probably bad gas so I put in some gas stabilizer that gets rid of water
- I have cleaned my flame arrestor to make sure it was getting air
- I watched and listened to fuel pumps and it seems they are working fine ( no winning or any weird noises)
That didn’t work…
The next thing I’m doing is going to drain the gas tank and check the pickup value in gas tank and change the spark plugs
Any ideas where to look if that doesn’t solve it?
