2001 Volvo Penta 5.7L GSIPEFS oil type

Hi all,

I have been using Mercury 25w-40 conventional oil the last two seasons and have not had a problem my local marina said this oil is just fine to use for this engine. I just want to get others opinions before I continue to use. Any thoughts? I’m in New England and only use my boat in the summer

It’s fine to use versus the others. I have used it in my much older 4.6 V6 with good results from numerous oil analyses.
