2005 Honda bf150 leaking oil when trimmed up

Hey yall have a recently purchased 2005 Honda bf150a (~350hr) that has an oil leak when tilted all the way up. I don’t notice any issues/noises when driving/starting the motor it just leaks when I trim it up, any ideas on what could be causing it?

Several places to check. on the top of the engine remove alternator belt cover and look under main pully wheel on top of motor see if oil slinging out from under it. if so that upper case seal not real difficult to replace. second place to look is valve cover gasket and rubber tube from cover that drains down to oil sump. last pull the starter and look down the hole at the flywheel and see if you can see any oil if so lower seal is issue. could try lucas but this seal might require pulling block from mid to get to.

Another place probably the first place you should check is the drain tube of the Case Muffler. its the small tube under the black plastic part that connects onto to the throttle body. if the oil is coming out of the drain its no big deal. There is a 1 inch vacuum hose that comes from the timing chain case to the case muffler this is probably where the oil if coming from much like oil vapor going thru pcv valve and then its draining out of the tube. Is your engine over full of oil?
