2024 BF 50 -external hose

Just had a repower done , 2007 upgraded to 2024 . Question is , what is this hose on the exterior of the out board on the left side ?

Just called dealer, it is a fresh water flush port. If you ran in salt water it would be a good option. It looks odd on the outside of the motor . Not certain how to post pictures

I see the link about the fresh water flush port but I couldn't open it.
Anyway, thanks for the update and explanation.

The yamaha 25hp has this external hose too but theirs has a standard domestic hose connector in the middle which you undo and flush with fresh water ..It does make flushing easy if your motors are in the water. We have a couple of houseboats at the Marina where we live that have the 25 and I think that's the idea as big motors are not practical to take off and flush. My BF50 motors are 2006 models and only have the flush fitting down on the bottom of the lower leg and are tricky to get to. A hose/coupling near the top would be awesome as the BF20D on my dinghy takes a top flush port.
