Chriscraft K series engine

I’m new to the Chriscraft boating world. I have a k series engine and I’m having trouble with the engine idle. Engine runs fine at 1200rpm but anything lower than this it starts “hunting” rpm. I’ve replaced the spark plugs and wires. I’ve checked the points and gap. I’ve checked the fuel lines and filter. I bypassed the filter. I’ve sprayed carb cleaner while it’s running. All didn’t work. The parts guy said unfortunately it is replace parts. The engine runs very smooth above at 1200 and above. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My guess is the idle circuit in the carb has crud in it...

You may be able to get more details over at oldmarineengine.com...pretty good knowledge base for pre-1960's engines...

That’s my thought also. I’m reading articles that if the coil was bad it could cause rough idling. Or the fuel pump has a pin hole in the diaphragm. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated!
